Some things that he talks about:
He lives together with his wife, but the 2 kids don't live at home anymore.
Also he says the record label has been pushing him to go tour in the old world,
they'd pay for the ferry ride across (as he fears flying)... but JJ 's reply is
that, naah, if he did travel, he'd fly like everybody else. :)
After midnight was original an instrumental for a producer. "Let it all hang
out", was shouted out by some drunk in Georgian nightclub, so he picked that for
his song.
He used to have (four) dogs, but didn't get a new now, because he wants to
overlive the pets. He has a Mac laptop with ProTools, but he hasn't really used
it for recording. For this interview he wears $10 jeans, and a T-shirt that he
got sent the day before, hasn't worn a suit in years, always hated ties. He used
to have a great Porsche 911 he loved, now he only has a van, because it's not
that easy not to press to the floor on a Porsche. :)

A quick translation:
"For 50 years JJ has played his own mix of blues and country, undeterred by
changes in fashion. He really broke through due to cover versions by EC, Dylan,
Crawford. The seventy year old wrote such hits like "After Midnight", "Cocaine",
"Call Me the Breeze" und "Magnolia". Cale's music and personality are mostly
understood through the phrase "laid back". JJ talked to Rebmann in San Francisco
about how he fits this description, and how he sees his current status in the
music business. He also tells about his studio tricks, his friendship with EC
and explains how he used to hide his money in the walls of his camper instead of
a bank account. "

But the interviewer says something like "in our previous interview (5 years ago)
you talked about two kids, do they live with you?" "Nah, they don't live at home
anymore". "Do they like your music?" "I don't really know, I don't involve them
in the music thing". Then he looks down on the table... like it's time to change
the subject!
Other things:
"I used to do a lot of drugs and alcohol. Don't do that anymore... I would not
be alive if I still did that"
The 911 was black, and was sold to his brother in law. And the car he has now is
a camping van, if I heard correctly.
He also says he voted for Obama and how he didn't like the previous president.
Also says he is just musician, but that's his personal view. Well, all that
isn't really any news.
Tom Petty's management called that they wanted to get tickets to the McCabe's
show... but JJ said he wanted them on stage, and Tom to sing a song. It was the
first time they actually played together.
