J.J. Cale's favorite guitar is this old fifty dollar Harmony, now backless for easier access to the electronics. Originally it was a round hole acoustic, but he has added five pickups for making records and playing concerts. One bar type pickup came from a Sears Silvertone guitar. The other four pickups are Gibson, two of which are low impedence for recording direct. The guitar has three high impedence outs and one low. The picture of the "open" backside of the guitar, which you didn't add to your page, was scanned upside down. So please turn it for a better look into it. On the right side (inside the guitar) you can see a code "JC 007". Above this code you can see a black label. On the original picture I can read his name on it: John W. Cale.
